“For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat…” - Matthew 25:35
Commitment to Parish Life (CPL) funds play a vital role in supporting various parish ministries and community partnerships. One of the cherished traditions at SJTW is our “Thanksgiving Baskets of Love”. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our parishioners, families in need receive essential support during this special season of gratitude.
David, Dawn, Bennett, Josephine, and William Cotterman are active in Thanksgiving Baskets of Love. To them, it’s a family tradition they get to enjoy every year. “Dawn and I love seeing William's smile when he realizes he's making a difference. People have commented about his smile and cheerful demeanor when they come to get their Thanksgiving basket.” says David when sharing how their youngest loves to help out by pushing the cart and loading the vehicles!
“We feel that this ministry is a great opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus through serving others.” To the Cotterman family, it’s another way that SJTW is doing God’s work.
“Thanksgiving Baskets of Love” are more than just boxes of food; they represent our collective effort as a parish community to bring to life the gospel imperative to love our neighbors. Your contributions, both in terms of donated food items and financial support through CPL, enable SJTW to assemble these special baskets. For those interested in participating, the Cotterman's say it’s a fun way to start the holiday season, “while focusing on what's important in life and knowing you are providing a Thanksgiving feast to others to enjoy as a family.”
