What is Joe's List?
Joe’s List is designed for parish members who have a desire to serve but have limited time to commit to ongoing volunteer work. It is also a way to reach out to fellow parishioners when they are in need. This ministry operates on an on-call basis, allowing participants to offer assistance to the parish or fellow parishioners in need as their schedule permits. Joe’s List fosters a network of support and care among our community.
How does it work?
When a specific need arises, an email notification is sent out to all participants. The first willing and available person to respond accepts the task, ensuring a quick and efficient response to immediate needs within our church family. Once the task is assigned, a follow-up email notifies everyone that it has been taken care of.
If you have a need, send it to Joe's List. Each request will be reviewed by a member of the SJTW staff, although we may not be able to fulfill every request.
FAQs
Who can sign up for Joe’s List?
Joe’s List is open to registered parishioners. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
What kind of tasks will the Joe’s List ask for?
That’s the great part. It will be a variety of options to utilize all our parish’s gifts helping each other as a parish community and as one body of Christ. SJTW staff may ask for a last-minute volunteer or a group to set up tables and chairs for an event. A parishioner may request a meal train for an illness, help with grocery store run, or even a simple task to assist an elderly parishioner.
Will there be money exchanged?
Absolutely not. Joe’s List operates on simple acts of love building a strong community.
