Haiti Sister Parish

Parishioner Suzanne Koenigs is active in the Haiti Sister Parish ministry at SJTW. As part of the Core Committee, she develops and trains people traveling to Haiti and participates in conversations with Fr. Claude of our sister parish, St. Catherine’s.  
 
Working with the people in Haiti has only strengthened her relationship with God. “The people of Haiti have the strongest faith. They have shown me how to allow more time to let God in. Haitians are forced to rely on God and their community. They role model vulnerability and help me to be more honest with myself and about myself.”  
 
Through her mission work, Suzanne has learned that living in community with others strengthens faith and is a reminder that we’re not alone. “You can't help but be changed after visiting St. Catherine's. It gives me perspective and truly reminds us of what it means to be grateful.”
