"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." – Ephesians 4:32
When you walk through the doors of St. Joseph the Worker, there’s a good chance you’ll be greeted with a warm smile from Jill Kitterman, a dedicated member of our Hospitality Ministry. Aside from greeting people at the door, the hospitality ministry helps with the flow of the liturgy, collecting the gifts, and pointing the way to restrooms and drinking fountains.
Jill, originally greeting Faith Formation children, became a Hospitality Minister twenty-three years ago after then-Director of Worship Aaron Carpenter suggested it. “Long-time parishioner Dan Hufstedler was my mentor, and with his guidance, he helped me understand the importance of this ministry.” She shares.
Our Hospitality Ministry plays a vital role in ensuring that St. Joseph the Worker is a warm, welcoming, and faith-filled community where everyone feels at home. When Jill first became a Hospitality Minister, she hadn’t considered the impact she could have. Over the years of serving, she feels touched by those who mention how much she’s helped them. “I feel it is an honor and privilege to serve.”
The ministry has helped Jill to strengthen her relationship with God through spreading His love and kindness to others. She hopes they take that out into the world and expand upon it like the Disciples did!
