Commitment to Parish Life (CPL) builds and strengthens our community.
“Faith does not merely gaze at Jesus, but sees things as Jesus himself sees them” ~ Pope Francis
Jesus invested in relationships with others, building meaningful connections and demonstrating genuine care. In order to "see like Jesus", we too must invest time and love in the lives of those around us. As we begin to build relationships and support one another in our journeys of faith, we are not only to “see” Christ in others but experience what it means to “BE” Christ for others in crucial in moments of joy, celebration, or hardship.
One of the SJTW parishioners who models this so well is Tom Seeger. If you don’t recognize the name, the chances are you will recognize his face. Tom can be found almost daily at Mass, or as a Hospitality Minister on Sundays, or at many of the Knights of Columbus events throughout the year! Tom has also been in SJTW's Faith Sharing For All group for decades! Faith Sharing For All is a group that meets weekly to reflect on the upcoming weekend's scripture readings and to stay connected with each other's lives. Tom says, "All the readings relate to life. Reading them ahead of Mass time is good preparation for me and helps the words sink in."
Along with preparing for the upcoming weekend Mass, Tom has found a wonderful support system of friends at Faith Sharing For All. "We share our own intentions each week and share our lives with the others so we can pray for one another's intentions as well." Knowing others are praying for you provides comfort, hope, and strength.
Faith Sharing For All meets every Wednesday at 9:30 am. To learn more about CPL or Faith Sharing For All, contact the parish office.
