At St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Community, we are committed to living out our faith through service. One of the ways we put our faith into action is through our partnership with Sharing & Caring Hands, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness and poverty in the Twin Cities.
What We Do
A couple of times a month, volunteers from SJTW prepare and serve a meal at Sharing & Caring Hands, providing nourishment and kindness to those in need. Additionally, our community supports them by donating blankets, various material essentials, Easter baskets for children, and more.
About Sharing & Caring Hands
Founded in 1985 by Mary Jo Copeland, Sharing & Caring Hands serves as a safety net for those who have nowhere else to turn. The organization provides meals, shelter, clothing, medical assistance, and other critical resources, all with an emphasis on respect and dignity.
If you are interested in getting involved or if you’d like more information, please contact Barry Shay or Theresa Warden in the parish office.
Calling All Teens! Make A Difference This Summer
Are you a teen 14 or older and looking for a meaningful way to live your faith this summer? Come join us at Sharing and Caring Hands to serve breakfast or lunch to those in need in Minneapolis.
Our generous adult volunteers are stepping aside this summer to give YOU the opportunity to encounter Christ through service. You won’t just be serving meals, you’ll be serving Christ Himself through love, dignity, and kindness. Parents are welcome to serve alongside their teens, but teen volunteers are also welcome to participate on their own.
Breakfast Shifts: June 22, July 27, August 24 from 8:30-11:30 am
