Mission Statement

We are here to facilitate friendships, support and encourage one another and help each other face the demands motherhood encompasses.


2007 Winter/Spring Schedule

January

11 - Food Allergies in Children Be with us for this informational meeting to learn about living with food allergies in children. A mom from St. Joseph the Worker will share her knowledge and personal experience with us about this condition.

25 - KidzArt Wendy Schaller from KidzArt will be with us. Find the artist that lives within you. Join in the fun activity, and learn a few things along the way. Adults who "don't think they can draw" are always amazed at their artwork. Be with us for this artistically stimulating time.

February

8 - Parenting Forum Join us as we gather together and share/discuss/problem solve about any parenting issue you may have. Come with your questions; be ready to help with your answers. Mom participation is required. It will be an enjoyable, informative learning session for all.

22 - Beads Join us for a fun day of beading. Beadbury from Osseo will be here with a variety of beads to create your own jewelry project. You choose whether you want to do a smaller or larger project. If you want to just come and visit, that is great too!

March

8 - Expanding our Parenting “toolbox” with Brain Gym® Brain Gym is a system of quick and simple physical activities and processes that assist people of all ages to relax, learn easily, and have enhanced performance in all areas of life. An experiential “playshop” will take you through a process to stay calm and take action during the challenging moments of parenting.

22 - Landscaping Spring will soon be upon us! Tom Richtsmeier of Richtsmeier Landscaping will be here to answer questions about any landscaping projects you are considering this year. He will answer questions regarding trees/shrubs, perennials and other landscaping materials available.

April

12 - Juvenile Diabetes This has become an increasingly diagnosed condition in children. Be with us to learn about Type I diabetes in children. A Mom’s Group member will share her knowledge and personal experience with us about living in a family with this condition.

26 - Fr. Mike Join us as Father Mike leads a group discussion. This is a great way to find out about what is new at St. Joe's and in the Catholic church overall.

10 - Herb gardening/Butterfly gardening A representative from Lynde Nursery will conduct a demonstration/how to session of two different kinds of container gardens: herb gardening and butterfly gardening. She will also be available to answer any Spring gardening question you may have.

24 - Farewell Brunch Join us for our traditional “Farewell Potluck Brunch”. In the spirit of preparing for summer, all moms present will create a list of the “10 best activities for summer.” Come; join in the food, conversation and fun at our last Mom’s Group meeting for the season.


Mom’s Group meets every other Thursday, from 9:30-11:00am downstairs at the church.
